Retired colonel kidnapped from Defence

LAHORE – A retired colonel was kidnapped by some unidentified men in Defence A police precincts on Saturday. According to the police, Col (r) Manzoor retired from the army three years back and was serving in DHA.
His wife called the police and narrated that Manzoor left the house to drop his friend Col (r) Jamil at his residence in X block of Defence housing society and during his return he called her and told that he was coming back after buying breakfast from a local market. She told that he did not turn up and his cell remained off despite repeated dialing.
Police have registered a case against the unidentified accused on the complaint of Col’s wife and have started probing into the matter.
FOUND DEAD: An old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Sattukatla police precincts on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Alla Ditta (60), a resident of Shadbagh. According to the police, the victim was a cook by profession and came to Johar Town for work.
Some locals of the area spotted his body lying in a vacant plot and informed the police. Police suspects that he was strangled by some unidentified men. Later, police shifted the body to the city morgue for autopsy. Police have registered a murder case against the unknown on the complaint of deceased’s son Ijaz Ahmed.
STRANGULATED: A 40-year-old electrician strangulated after his shawl stuck into a generator’s fan in Ghalib Market area on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Ashiq, a resident of Faisalabad. Police said the victim was in the generator room where his shawl accidentally entangled in the generator’s fan and chocked his neck.
