ISLAMABAD – The Central Selection Board (CSB) is meeting today (Friday) under the chairmanship of Justice (r) Rana Bhagwandas to consider promotions of BPS 19 and BPS 20 officers. Justice (r) Bhagwandas, who is also the chairman of the Federal Public Service Commission, has been recently appointed as the CSB chairman. The board is also scheduled to meet tomorrow (Saturday).
The meeting will be attended by members of CSB, including the establishment secretary, IGPs, chief secretaries and other officers of BPS 22.The CSB has not met since September last year Following Supreme Court’s orders after a controversy over the prime minister promoting 54 bureaucrats to grade 22 on April 27 this year, new rules for promotions were formulated in August 2010.
The general performance criteria to be considered by the CSB include annual confidential reports (ACRs) of the officers and the report from the institution of Senior Management Course at National School of Public Policy, Lahore, where the officers get regular training.
