Saud, Khurram innocent in BB murder probe, says Punjab IGP

LAHORE – Punjab Inspector General of Police Tariq Saleem Dogar has said that the Punjab Police investigation teams and other agencies have found Saud Aziz and Khurram Shahzad innocent in their findings.
The IGP told a press conference on Wednesday that no doubt the postmortem report was concrete and tangible evidence, but Benazir’s Bhutto’s body was no ordinary body and police officers in Rawalpindi could do nothing without consultation of her family.
He, however, remarked that the criminals and masterminds of suicide bombers hired veteran lawyers and prosecutors after the Punjab Police arrested their accomplices and challaned their cases in courts. Dogar said the Punjab Police had traced the maximum number of terrorists.
He said police had major clues of the suicide attacks at Data Darbar, Karbala Gamay Shah and the shrine of Baba Fareed and would nab the criminals soon. Speaking at an event organised by the Lahore Police at Qilla Gujjar Singh Police Lines later, Dogar advised senior police officers to discharge their duties professionally and honestly.
The IGP said good behaviour, hard work, better intelligence and contact with the masses were the best tools of professional duty.
