LAHORE – The fourth injured in the liberty car racing accident on Tuesday, Kashif, died at the Services Hospital in the wee hours on Wednesday. The deceased are identified as Raja Tahir (27), Raja Umer (25), Umer Daraz (27) and Kashif (26), residents of the Habibullah Road Gharishahu.
Two cars met an accident on Tuesday during a race. A Cultus was toppled while overtaking the other car and five were injured, including two cousins Raja Umer and Raja Tahir, and were rushed to the hospital where three of them died, while Kashif died yesterday.
The deceased’s funerals were attended by many. Irfan’s brother said they didn’t want to blame someone. He told that Irfan left home telling that he was going out to spend time with his friends and then they came to know about the car accident by the police.
Police officials told Pakistan Today that the FIR has been lodged against the unknown civic driver, which became the main cause of the accident and who fled from the scene. The police speculated that the other car might be one of the friends of the Raja Tahir, the driver of the Cultus, who went for car racing. Police told that the investigations were underway and the case will proceed further after the injured, Irfan, records his statement.
