PESHAWAR – The sacrifices of police and other security forces in the ongoing war on terror lead to normalcy in the region, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti has said.
He was talking to the journalists after attending a ceremony at Malik Saad Shaheed Trust in Peshawar on Tuesday.
Hoti opened Malik Saad Shaheed Trust Website and distributed Rs 75,000 Sifwat Ghayoor Shaheed scholarships among the students from all boards of intermediate and secondary education (BISE’s) who got positions in secondary and intermediate classes.
He showed satisfaction over decline in terrorist acts in the outgoing calendar year as compared to 2009 and said that it was due to the support of masses.
He said the people in the province are aware of the facts and are extending due cooperation and support to the government and security forces.
The government’s strategy is reflecting trust and faith of the people in government’s policies and the security forces, he said adding that the militants are on escape whereas peace and normalcy are returning throughout the region.
He, however, showed severe resentment over latest terrorist acts in Mohmand and Bajaur Agency, saying “we are firm on comprehensive action against militants in all over the region.”
He further said the rehabilitation activities in the flood affected areas were in progress and, he added, foreign aid and assistance must be consumed on need basis.
The ceremony was also addressed by Trust President Malik Amjad Aziz while Inspector General Police Fayaz Khan Toru, former inspector Malik Naveed and several others attended the ceremony.
