ISLAMABAD – Higher Education Commission (HEC), in collaboration with the United States (US) Embassy, has launched a training course for Rawalpindi and Islamabad colleges’ English teachers.
HEC Adviser Dr SM Raza was the chief guest in the opening ceremony of the course held on Tuesday.
He said that during the six-week course “Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages” (TESOL), the teachers from the public colleges would be able to improve their pedagogical and classroom management skills.
HEC spokesman said the program is fully funded by US Embassy Islamabad and Dave Hopkins, a senior English language fellow,
sponsored by Georgetown University and the US Department of State would administer the course and the participants will be awarded an International Certification in TESOL.
