‘FIA has evidence against corrupt govt depts’

KARACHI – The Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) has received several complaints against state-run departments and acquired evidence against them as well, Moazzam Jah Ansari, FIA Sindh director said on Tuesday.
The departments involved in corruption include Pakistan Railways, National Database and Registration Authority, National Highway Authority, Pakistan State Oil, Passport Cell, Customs, Karachi Port Trust, Pakistan Agriculture Storage and Supply Corporation and National Bank of Pakistan, he told the media.
The FIA Sindh director said that Interior Minister Rehman Malik has also taken notice of the issue.He said internal intelligence units would be established in different departments to curb corruption and complaint cells and boxes would also be set up there.
“The departments have been ordered to take steps for the elimination of corruption and submit a report within 15 days,” he said.
