‘Steps on to check smoke pollution’

ISLAMABAD – Federal Environment Minister Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi on Monday said alternate sources of energies were being encouraged to promote the use of clean fuel in all kinds of automobiles.
“These measures will also help conserve energy and minimize hazardous smoke,” he said, while talking to media people. He revealed the government had introduced a project of CNG buses in all the provinces and attractive incentives had also been offered to transporters to convert their buses on CNG and provide better transport facilities for the citizens.
He said the increasing smoke-emitting vehicles were causing fatal ailments and also becoming a source of global warming, so it was necessary for all human beings to bring a positive change in their behavior towards the use of natural resources.
Afridi said the government had also initiated another programme of converting all rickshaws on CNG.
