LAHORE – Afghan FC failed to stop an aggressive PMC Athletico and suffered a 0-1 defeat at Govt. High School, Chaman in Pakistan Premier Football League. PMC’s all-important goal came through Muhammad Luqman in the 23rd minute. The win allowed PMC the needful three points, assuring them A-Division soccer next year too.
Afghan FC have managed 42 points in their 30 matches while PMC earned 21. In another match, Baloch FC edged out Young Blood 2-0 at Nushki Football Stadium, Nushki, sending them into lower Division along with SSGC. Both the teams had entered PPFL for the first time this year. Baloch FC slammed both goals through striker Najeeb Ullah, who damaged Young Blood’s defence in the early stages, coming in the 3rd and 5th minute.
Baloch FC have secured 34 points while Young Blood made only 18 and finished 16th and last behind 15th-place SSGC (20 points). Meanwhile, NBP flattened PEL 3-1 at Peoples Sports Complex. Lanky Sattar Mansuri showed his striking power, completing a well-earned hat-trick, the 16th to be recorded in PPFL sheets. He snatched the opener in the 22nd minute before PEL’s Muhammad Usman reduced the lead in the 39th minute.
Three minutes before interval, Mansuri struck again to make it 2-1. He put the match beyond PEL’s clutches with another blow in the 71st minute. PEL have earned 38 point as compared to NBP’s 34 in 30 matches.
