LAHORE – A memorandum of understanding was signed on Monday between the Punjab government and a renowned university of Istanbul, Fatiehn, regarding cooperation for the improvement of the education sector.
The MoU was signed by Punjab Chief Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Rector of the university, Prof Serif Ali Tajalan. Under the agreement, the Punjab government would send 50 brilliant male and female students to Fetiehn University on its own expenses for post-graduation and PhD Scientific knowledge will also be exchanged under the agreement.
The agreement was signed during the visit of the Punjab chief minister to the university. Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said nothing could be better than starting his day with a visit to a renowned seat of learning. He said it was very encouraging that there were 700 Ph.D teachers and 11,000 students in Fatiehn University.
He said the Punjab government would provide an excellent location for the Fetiehn University in Lahore. He hoped the agreement would prove to be a milestone in the promotion of education as well as relations between the two countries.
