LAHORE – The FIFA Members Associations Elite Referee Course commenced here at the Football House on Monday with over 30 participants taking part in it.
“It’s now easier than ever to become a qualified football referee as compared to the 70s or 80s. By getting on the refereeing ladder, individuals have the opportunity to progress through various PFF qualifications,” said PFF Secretary General Lt. Col (retd) Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi.
He made these remarks during the Monday’s inauguration ceremony of the course at Lahore’s FIFA Football House.
Regional Development Officer FIFA Mohamed Muhiseen Ariff (Sri Lanka), FIFA Refereeing Instructor Masoud Enayat and fitness instructor from Maldives Muhammad Hani were also present on this occasion. On the opening day, Masoud told the participants about course organisation and presentation on FIFA FIFA and Guidelines for Referees and Assistant Referees.
Masoud, who acted as Match Commissioner during Pakistan-Qatar’s Beijing Olympics qualifier at Islamabad three years ago,
concluded that the course will provide 30 Pakistani referees with information and methodologies that will assist them in refreshing their careers.
It is fine opportunity for Pakistani referees to learn as the program covers an introduction and overview of referee and the relationship that needs to be developed between a referee and his assistant referee.
