Doctors Hospital in the news again – Relatives rough up hospital staff after PML-N leader dies

LAHORE – The president of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Okara died here on Monday at the Doctors Hospital allegedly because of negligence by the doctors. He was under treatment at the hospital for some respiratory disorder.
The hospital is situated with the Johar Town Police precincts. The outraged relatives of the deceased thrashed the doctors and vandalised the hospital premises. The deceased Chaudhary Mehar, according to deceased’s son Zahid, had been brought to hospital on December 07. Zahid told this scribe that they doctors had told them that the patient needed to be operated upon immediately.
“We had paid all the expenses in advance and my father was under operation on Monday when he died because of the surgeons’ negligence”, he added. After the death of the Mehar, the relatives staged a protest and rouged up the staff at the hospital. The fury, however, subsided when PML-N leaders arrived at the hospital and ensured them of justice. No case was registered till the filing of this report.
Chaudhary Zahid, while talking to reporters, said he would take legal action against the hospital administration. The Doctors Hospital’s doctors was accused of negligence, when a three-year-old girl, Imanae Malik had died during treatment a year ago. The girl’s death case is stilling pending with the Supreme Court.
