Constable arrested for aiding ‘fake passport’ holder

LAHORE – Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Punjab on Monday arrested a constable of Chowki Airport and a citizen, who was trying to fly to United Kingdom from Allama Iqbal International Airport on a fake passport with the help of the aforementioned constable.
FIA sources said that Tanveer Ahmed, resident of Sialkot, tried to fly for United Kingdom (UK) from Allama Iqbal International Airport a couple of weeks ago on a fake passport of Tariq Mehmood but FIA immigrations officials on suspicion stopped him and took his passport in custody for verification. Tanveer Ahmed on Monday again tried to fly to UK with the help of a constable Khalid of Chowki Airport,
who promised to get him through the immigration counters. FIA immigrations officials nabbed Tanveer Ahmed again along with the constable and registered a case against both men.
FIA sources said that Tanveer Ahmed had already managed to get through to UK some five years ago on a fake passport but returned to the country two months ago.
