LAHORE – Former PM and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairperson Benazir Bhutto’s martyrdom was a great loss to the nation whose repercussions could never be overlooked, Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) Chairman and PPP leader Fakhar Zaman said on Tuesday.
“Every moment after Benazir’s martyrdom has increased the nation’s agony and present history is being written with her blood,” Zaman said. The PPP leader paid rich tributes to services and sacrifices of the former PM and said that she was the central figure of Pakistanis’ hopes, a true believer of democracy and champion of human rights.
The PAL chairman said that Benazir led her whole life under critical circumstances but fulfilled her father former PM and PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s mission successfully.
He said that Benazir had a charismatic personality and played a remarkable role in safeguarding women rights.
