LAHORE – National Bank of Pakistan piled up misery on Habib Bank by first defeating them, then moving a step above in the points table here at the Gaddafi Stadium on Monday.
Chasing 157 runs, NBP resumed their innings at eight and completed 158 runs for three. Their win also overshadowed Imran Farhat’s century for HBL. The win turned the focus on Kamran Akmal who remained unbeaten on 70 while Naumanullah was plying at 41 when NBP surpassed the target. Sarmad Anwar with two wickets was the main bowler for the losers.
Meanwhile at the LCCA, the match between Wapda and SNGPL is heading towards an interesting finish with the former in placed slightly better.
Wapda resumed their innings at 138 for three and went on to score 257 with 227 runs in their first innings while SNGPL after a disastrous first innings in which they made 141 runs, was at 123 for two when the day was closed. They require another 217 runs for win with all the responsibility being rested on the shoulders of Naeemuddin who was at the crease with 74 runs on board.
