RAIN RAEDY TO POUNCE ON NEW YEAR’ CELEBRATIONS

LAHORE – New Year’s night is a special night. The weather, the lighting, the feeling have to come together and be perfect. What is the perfect weather for the day? What is the perfect weather for the night? were the two questions Pakistan Today put to the Lahoris’ it encountered. The night must be accompanied with a drizzle and the day must be clear, they confess. The day is to be spend in the open.

The weather debate came alive after rumors of wet weather ruining the New Year’s celebrations began to circulate. The Met office, in its report on Monday, declared, “the Westerly wave shall cause some rain in the North Eastern parts of the country including Lahore,
Gujranwala, Hazara and Bahawalpur divisions and Kashmir on the 29th and 30th of December.” With this announcement, the New Year’s ball literally dropped. Jaws dropped and hands went up in prayer,
“When the clock strikes twelve, please don’t pour,” they said. But the Met department suggests otherwise. A Met department official speaking to Pakistan Today confirmed the dour prediction. “Fog shall prevail until the rain pours.
