Mujahid Squad arrests 171 criminals in a week

LAHORE – The Mujahid Squad Police, taking action on 15 emergency calls, arrested 171 criminals including 16 proclaimed offenders, 6 court absconders, robbers, drug peddlers and recovered illicit weapons, huge quantities of hashish, heroin and liquor during the last one week.
According to a handout issued on Monday, the Mujahid Squad Police registered 117 cases against the above-mentioned criminals in various police stations. Mujahid Squad Superintendent of Police (SP) Muntazir Mehdi directed all patrolling officers to take stern action against criminals in order to decrease the crime rate. He also directed them to take immediate action on 15 emergency calls so that criminals could not escape.
The Mujahid Squad also arrested several men for carrying illegal weapons and recovered 27 pistols, 9 riffles and dozens of bullets from their possession. During crackdown against drug peddlers, 6 kilogrammes hashish and 76 liquor bottles were also recovered.
The deputy inspector general (DIG) Operations appreciated the performance of the Mujahid Squad and announced cash rewards and commendatory certificates for the policemen
