LAHORE – Lahore Health Executive District Officer (EDO) Dr Umer Farooq Baloch directed officials on Sunday to take stern action against artificial drugs shortage and point out elements involved in this heinous crime.
He said that the health department staff should fulfill their responsibilities and play a vigilant role in this regard. On directions of Punjab Health Secretary Fawad Hassan Fawad, the Health EDO issued instructions to all drug inspectors to inspect their respective areas and ensure that drugs manufacturers and storekeepers were not involved in hoarding medicines for higher prices.
He said that some “black sheep” were busy in creating shortages and selling medicines at higher prices. Baloch said that such persons should not be left unchecked and appealed to the print and electronic media and the general public to unmask such elements so that stern action be taken against them.
