Carjackers rule the roost in Isloo

ISLAMABAD – With 24 vehicles stolen or snatched last week, carjacking topped the list of crime in the capital. According to the data gathered by Pakistan Today, 24 vehicles were stolen and nine houses were robbed in Islamabad last week in comparison with the previous week’s figures of 16 stolen vehicles, six burgled houses and two stolen mobiles.
Last week carjackers stole four vehicles while robbers broke in two houses in the Shalimar Police Station precincts, whereas the week before the last registered one case each of car theft, mobile snatching and robbery. Three cars were stolen and two houses burgled in the Ternol Police Station precincts last week. Besides, two men died in road accidents.
Industrial area Police Station registered three cases of car theft and one of robbery last week, while the week before the last one case of car theft was reported. In the Aabpara Police Station, three cases of car theft and one of robbery was registered last week, whereas in the week before three cases of car theft were reported.
In the Margalla Police Station precincts three cases of car theft were reported each week over the last two weeks. Bhara Kahu Police registered two cases of car theft and one of robbery last week, while no such case was registered in the week before the last. Carjackers stole three vehicles in the Sabzi Mandi Police Station precincts last week, while in the week before the last one case of robbery and car theft showed up.
Last week, unidentified people killed a teenager and a car was stolen in the precincts of Shahzad Town Police Station, while in the week before the last two cases of car theft were reported to this police station. Secretariat and Koral Police stations registered one case each of car theft last week, while a week before the last Secretariat Police Station registered one case of robbery and car theft.
The same police station registered one case each of mobile snatching and car theft.
