RAWALPINDI – Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah wanted to make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state as his principles, faith, unity and discipline are a source of guidance for the new generation.
Architect of the nuclear programme, Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan said this while addressing the concluding session of three-day celebrations organised to mark birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam at Ghulam Qadir Hall, Faizul Islam Complex on Saturday that was attended by intellectuals, writers, poets, teachers, parents and students.
He said that Quaid-i-Azam was not only the liberator of the nation but he laid down the foundation of an independent and sovereign state through his wisdom and untiring efforts also. Terming Qauid-e-Azam a true sympathiser and well wisher of the Muslims, he said, Allah Almighty selected him for the creation of Pakistan and following his example, we were able to make Pakistan a nuclear power in just seven years.
Anjuman Faiz ul Islam President Mian Siddique Akbar said that Pakistan was able to become a nuclear power due to the patriotism and creative capabilities of Dr Abdul Qadeer. Minan Siddique said that before the creation of Pakistan, Quaid-i-Azam visited Anjuman Faiz ul Islam at Committee Chowk, Rawalpindi in 1944 and appreciated its services for the orphan and destitute children.
Anjuman Faiz ul Islam Senior Vice President Dr Riaz also spoke on the occasion and later, students from educational institutions affiliated with Anjuman Faiz ul Islam presented national songs and tableaus and took part in a declamation competition, conveying the message of unity, faith and discipline.
