That austere, lean “Dhobhi Ghat” look will soon change to a beefed up, hefty one; in Faruk Kabir’s next ” One-Punch Prince”, Pratiek will play a larger than life action hero. Though he will have his memory intact, Pratiek’s character will be seen thrashing his adversaries quite effortlessly. Said Faruk,
“The title “One-Punch Prince” comes from the fact that the hero can vanquish his enemies with a single punch. Just one punch, and the guy opposite Pratiek would fall flat on the ground.” Hope Rajinikanth doesn’t take offence.
The film is likely to transform the actor’s image drastically. From playing a quirky cameo in Abbas Tyrewala’s “Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na”, Pratiek bagged two very crucial roles of his career – Kiran Rao’s “Dhobi Ghat” and Rohan Sippy’s “Dum Maro Dum”. And now, Pratiek’s role in Faruk’s “One-Punch Prince” is being described by the director as a cross between Dharmendra in “Phool Aur Patthar” and Salman Khan in “Wanted”.
You wonder if the actor will be able to pull it off. “Why not?” Faruk shot back, “Pratiek has a panther-like agility and dexterity. He is perfect material for an action hero. He just needs to be worked upon a little for the character to suit him best.”
