QUETTA – A number of activists of Baloch Students Organisation (BSO-Azad) on Saturday protested outside the Quetta Press Club against the abduction and extra-judicial killing of young people.
Participants carried placards and shouted slogans against the security forces and the government. Addressing the demonstration, BSO leader Banok Andleeb Baloch strongly condemned the extra-judicial arrest of Baloch youths, particularly those affiliated with BSO.
She alleged that security forces after abducting Baloch youths and subjecting them to severe torture, adding that there decomposed bodies were dumped in isolated areas of the province in routine. Andleed claimed that security forces and intelligence agencies had no honour for law and were violating human rights and the sanctity of houses in Balochistan.
She lamented the judiciary’s role, saying Baloch youths were being killed and tortured but the judiciary had kept mum over these atrocities. Andleeb said a large number of Baloch youths were languishing in torture cells and if prompt action was not taken for their safe recovery, they could be killed.
She demanded global humanitarian organisations to pressure the government to stop the abductions.
