Zuberi’s firms and Arif Nizami, pay him tribute

LAHORE: Business Recorder Lahore and AAJ TV held a reference in memory of their founder Editor-in-Chief and Patron-in-Chief M A Zuberi who died on December 12 at the age of 90.
Wamiq Zuberi, the successor editor-in-chief and chief executive of the group presided over the reference which was also addressed by Member National Assembly (MNA) and former PML-N finance secretary Pervaiz Malik, English newspaper Pakistan Today Editor Arif Nizami and veteran journalist Prof Azizuddin Ahmad.
Paying tribute to late M A Zuberi, Pervez Malik said the business community, the leadership of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and Pakistan Muslim League-N had always benefited from the economic ideas of late Mr Zuberi.
Malik said Mr Zuberi gave Pakistan two great institutions, the Business Recorder and AAJ TV, that would keep his memory alive always.
Pakistan Today Editor Arif Nizami said that an era in journalism had come to an end with Mr Zuberi’s death. Mr Nizami said his father late Hameed Nizami – Founding Editor of Nawa-e-Waqt – and M A Zuberi both entered journalism on the bidding of Mr Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Mr Nizami added that Mr Zuberi was a pillar of journalism and was the last of the journalists who worked with Mr Jinnah in the
Pakistan Movement.
