PESHAWAR: Suspected militants on Friday bombed a boys’ high school in the outskirt of the Peshawar city leaving two students and a teacher injured, police and rescue sources said. The bomb exploded near a school in Pelosi area. “One classroom was completely destroyed in the explosion,” a security official told Pakistan Today.
The explosion took place when the students were having their lessons in the open while enjoying sun. Rescue 1122 (the emergency service) sources said the wounded were taken to Khyber Teaching Hospital where there condition was said to be stable. AIG of Bomb Disposal Squad Shafqat Malik said around 5kg of explosives had been used in the blast, adding that it was remote-controlled bomb. The suspected militants have bombed over 70 schools in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
