PESHAWAR: The Christians and Hindus in Lower Dir have demanded a community center at Timergara so they could arrange their functions there. The demand was made during a Christmas ceremony held at a local hotel. An NGO, the Rural Development Organisation (RDO) had arranged the ceremony. Local Christians and Hindus participated at the event. Mr Shamoon Masih was chief guest on the occasion.
Musicians and local artists presented religious songs, dances and tablues on the occasion. It was after several years that the Christians could hold Christmas celebrations as they feared the terrorist attacks. Minority leaders while speaking on the occasion said they had been finding it difficult to hold their religious function in the absence of any community center in the district.

  1. There should be freedom for monorities to celebrate their days in pakistan. however I urge minorities to arrange the community center at its own, as muslims do it for mosques.
