There is a common view of the police in the eyes of the public, that they only serve the elite. This view is part misconception and part truth. Being law abiding citizens, it is our duty to stop the support of public and political figures that use police for personal or partisan interests. This as a result, will also pave the way in depoliticising this institution. The reduction in VIP duties or hiring of additional staff for those duties will also decrease the burden on the staff. It is to be realised that this institution is being run by the public money and they are here to serve us.
