QUETTA – Balochistan Police on Thursday presented Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) leader Shahzain Bugti in Anti-Terrorist Court on Thursday and obtained a seven-day physical remand.
He was taken to the ATC court-I of Judge Muhammad Ismail Baloch who granted the remand on the request of the prosecution. Shahzain, along with his 27 guards and party workers, was arrested at Baleli checkpost by the Frontier Corps on Wednesday.
Talking to reporters outside the court, Shahzain said his arrest was aimed at sabotaging his long march towards Dera Bugti along with thousands of displaced Bugti tribesmen and party workers. He said they were implicated in fabricated cases and they would face all cases against him and his friends.
Around a hundred party workers gathered outside the court and kept canting slogans in favour of their party leaders and against the government for implicating him in what they alleged were false cases.
