ISLAMABAD: America is on the run and is facing defeat in Afghanistan, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl group (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said in a press conference after his party’s Central Executive Council meeting on Wednesday. “Pakistan is not an easy prey and the US will meet the same fate in North Waziristan at it did in Afghanistan and Iraq,” he said. Even though his party’s CEC had supported the decision of quitting central government, party policy in Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan will be not changed, he said, adding that revival of Mutahidda Majlis-e-Amal was still unclear and that his party wanted next elections to be held on time.
He appealed to the masses to observe protest on December 24 (tomorrow) against the possible attempt by government to alter the blasphemy laws, asking the traders to observe strike on December 31. This issue would determine his party’s future course of action, he said, adding that former federal minister for housing Rehmatullah Kakar’s investigatin was political victimization.
