LAHORE: The Pakistan Squash Federation on Tuesday appointed Jansher Khan as national coach.
The announcement came after Jansher met President PSF Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman at Air Headquarters. Senior Vice President Air Vice Marshal Syed Razi Nawab was also present. According to an official of the PSF, the performance of the players and all issued pertaining to the game were discussed in the meeting.
Jansher has been appointed adviser to the President PSF as well as national coach. Squash legend had offered his services to improve the players’ performance at the international level. During the course of the meeting, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman shared his views about the game and highlighted the course of action to revive squash in Pakistan. The PSF, he said, plans to spread the game throughout the country.
The President PSF appreciated the performance of Pakistani players in international events during the year as they won gold and silver medals in South Asian Games and at recently concluded Asian Games at China. Rao said that PSF would continue its support to the top level squash players. They would have to work even harder to improve their rankings at the world level.
