ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) team has completed investigation into Tawana Pakistan Health Project scam case and it will submit the findings to the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench on December 24 (Friday).
A source told Pakistan Today on Tuesday that Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of FIA found misappropriation of Rs 170 million funds.
He said that under the project, Rs 310 million had been allocated to a private company for supply of milk, juices and biscuits to the girls’ primary schools. The company only spend Rs. 140 million out of 310 million it was allocated.
“Rs 200 million had been paid to NTA Enterprises and Rs 4.8 million to another company, Mahaba Enterprises and both the companies were fake and they only existed on papers and this amount was paid for publicity campaign, maintenance of vehicles and setting up of offices”, he said. He said that project was designed for provision of food items to school girls in poverty-ridden areas of Laki Marwat, DG Khan, Pak Pattan, Badin, Gwadar and Turbat. He said FIA team has, so far, recovered Rs 7.7 million.
