Low gas pressure rules at CNG stations

LAHORE – Gas pressure to CNG stations remained low on Saturday while many stations were closed owing to gas shortage causing a lot of inconvenience to people amid the All Pakistan CNG Association’s appeal to Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani to consult all stakeholders for tackling the gas crisis.
All CNG stations at the Johar Town, College Road, Peco Road and the Allama Iqbal Town were either closed or could not sell CNG to people owing to gas shortage. Citizens complained that they had to run their vehicles on petrol due to the gas shortage, which was adding to their miseries.
“I visited many CNG stations but none had gas,” motorist Amjad Mehmood said adding the federal government had failed to control the gas crisis. According to a statement, All Pakistan CNG Association President Ghayas Paracha said that the PM would hold a meeting with gas sector stakeholders on Monday and the association was not invited to the meeting.
He said that the CNG sector was a major stakeholder of gas consumers but it was being ignored in this regard. Paracha said that millions of people were dependent on CNG while thousands of people were associated with the CNG sector and the government should take the association into confidence in this regard.
