KARACHI: The government is focusing on development in goths in urban areas along with cities, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah said on Thursday during a meeting with National Assembly member Sher Muhammad Baloch. “Officials concerned are paying attention to development projects in Malir, Dursana Chhanna, Lyari, Keamari and Ibrahim Hyderi,” he said, adding that efforts are being made to provide residents of these areas with basic facilities. President Asif Ali Zardari would lay the foundation stone for a major education project that has been started in Malir.
“Around 50 to 70 projects to provide higher education to approximately 150,000 students per year have been planned with the 9,000-acre Education City,” Shah said, adding that the project, which is the biggest in South Asia as far as education is concerned, would, during production and after completion, provide employment opportunities to thousands of people.
