Flood survivors will get plots in Karachi

KARACHI: The Sindh government is planning to give away plots to flood survivors in Gadap and Bin Qasim towns of Karachi. While visiting the relief camps in Razzakabad and Malir, Sindh Rehabilitation Minister Haji Muzaffar Shujra said the government would construct 30,000 houses in the first phase for underprivileged people and flood survivors of the province. “The government will fulfil all promises made to the flood survivors. President Asif Ali Zardari is taking special interest in this matter.” Shujra also appreciated the role of the social organisations for supporting the people of the flood-hit areas.
Model village: Two social organisations, Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and Health And Nutrition Development Society (HANDS), received 14 acres from an anonymous donor to construct a model village in Noor Muhammad Baloch village, Keamari Town. Addressing a gathering on the occasion, PPAF President Muhammad Hussain Dawood said houses, education and health facilities, and complete infrastructure of a modern village would be constructed for the people of the area to alleviate their problems.
