HAFIZABAD – District government has imposed a ban on pillion riding, standing on the roofs of houses and shops on the routs of mourning processions under section 144 of Pakistan Penal Code in the Hafizabad on 10th of Muharram.
A notification has been issued here in this regard. Meanwhile, Hafizabad District Police Officer Tariq Chohan said the violators of section 144 PPC and creating hurdles in the law and order situation would be dealt with iron hand.
Talking to media men during his visit to the routs of processions for reviewing arrangements made for the security of mourners the other day, he appealed to the people to keep vigilant eye on anti social elements, miscreants and inform about suspicious persons to police control room so that action would be taken against miscreants well in time to avert any untoward incident.
MOTHER LEAVES NEW-BORN SON IN RIKSHAW: A mother left her son in a motorcycle rickshaw on Kassoki road and disappeared. It is stated that unknown lady sat on a motorcycle rickshaw from railway gate. When she reached the bypass, she left her son in the rikshaw on the back seat and fled away.
Taking its custody, the police rushed the child to hospital. After examining the child, doctors declared him fit and healthy and returned to the police. Police has started search of the lady. Hafizabad DPO Tariq Chohan said that if mother or father was not traced, the child would be handed over to philanthropists according to the law.
SIX PROCESSIONS TO BE HELD ON ASHURA: Three “Taazia” and as many “Zuljinnah” processions would be held on specific routs in Hafizabad city on 10th of Muharram. First “Taazia” procession would start from Imambargah ward No 1, Shahrah-e-Farooq-e-Azam, and the second from Imambargah Mohallah Hussain Pura and the third from the residence of Syed Shahid Hussain Tirmazi, Jalalpur Road.
The “Zuljinnah’s” first procession will start from the residence of Syed Ali Naqi Shah on the post office road where the Shia people would mourn the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain. The second “Zuljinnah” will start from the residence of Liaqat Ali Zawar Khannu and the third “Zuljinnah” will start from the residence of Maman Termazi.
All of these processions will, later on, meet at Fawara Chowk where “Sham-e-Ghareeban” would be observed.
50 PERCENT OF POPULATION SUFFERS IODINE DEFICIENCY: Iodine is the integral part of human body and 50 percent population of the country is suffering from various diseases for the want of iodine. This was disclosed in a meeting of Hafizabad Iodine deficiency Disorder Committee, held at Committee Room of District Complex. Hafizabad District Coordination Officer Abrar Ahmad Mirza presided over the meeting.
Executive District Officer Health Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Javed, Focal person of the committee Muhammad Khaliq and other concerned officers attended the meeting. Giving briefing about the importance of Iodine, Focal person Muhammad Khaliq told the participants that 50 percent of population of our country was suffering from different diseases due to deficiency of iodine. Dumbness, deafness, mental and physical weakness in newly born children was also the major reason of lack of Iodine, he added.
Addressing to the meeting, the DCO stressed upon the need to create awareness among people about the importance of Iodine for the human body and declared it essential for promoting use of Iodine mixed salt to prevent people from different diseases.
Salt grinding mills would be forced to mix iodine and a special campaign would also be launched in the district to minimize death ratio of infants, decided in the meeting.
