Justin Timberlake feels “humbled” by the positive reaction to his new movie ‘The Social Network’ following a string of top awards nominations. The film, about the rise of Facebook, has won rave reviews and garnered a number of top honours from critics’ groups in New York and Los Angeles, as well as six Golden Globes nominations announced on Tuesday.
Timberlake’s co-stars Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield will both compete for acting titles at the upcoming awards show, while David Fincher is up for the Best Director honour. And although Timberlake was overlooked, he admits he’s fiercely proud of his colleagues.
He tells, “I am actually humbled by all of it. I think I’m just excited that people have really responded to the movie in that way. I think all the other actors, their work speaks for them and they’re great people.” And Timberlake is just grateful for the chance to work on the film, because he’s made so many great friends,
“I feel like, regardless of what comes out of the movie at the end of the winter, I feel I made some great friends that I really look up to even though I’m older than all of them which kind of depresses me. It’s exciting to know you can be part of something and really make good friends from it.”
