DASKA – Students of Government MC Girls’ primary School Daska shiver in fogy winter season. The 32-year-old school is being neglected by the authorities of the education department and that is causing the numbers of students to decrease to an extend that out of 1500 students, only 250 girls students are attending the classes in school.
The building has been declared dangerous and may collapse at any time. There is no wash room facility in the school. Due to the non-availability of furniture, the children sit on the floor in the winter season and the rooms have no ventilation. Due to severe cold, sometimes the students are sent home and school is closed.
Owing to poor quality and condition of electric wiring, the electric supply remains suspended and the teachers work on self help basis. Despite all these difficulties, the result of school always remains hundred percent. Nobody from the management or local politicians of the area has ever visited this institution.
Saira Mahmood, one of the students of this school who stood first in debates arranged by chief minister Punjab, has appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif to improve the condition of her school. The headmistress claimed that the school shows good results every year, therefore, the government should also pay attention to this school which is the basic destination of a student to fulfill his or her dreams.
Students and teachers protested against the education department. School children have appealed to the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Gujranwala Division Commissioner Hashim Tareen and Sialkot DCO Mujahid Sher Dil to take notice of the matter.
