Eradicating corruption

The Interior Minister Rehman Malik has announced a deadline of 7 days for the government employees to mend their ways and adopt honest approach while performing their duties. It is a matter of grave concern for the common helpless people that if they do not have enough money for bribery or any influential contact then their totally legal works would be hampered by the authorities.

The corruption should not be linked with financial embezzlement only. There are many other forms of corruption like cheating, fraud, slothful disposal of work and acquiring a post while being ineligible for that post. I, hereby, submit a proposal to the minister that a departmental inquiry must be conducted first before any further action. For this purpose, designated officials of a department must establish a complaint cell in each department/ministry and government office. Aggrieved or dissatisfied persons should have a chance to take up the matter to FIA for further inquiry. In this way, there will be lesser burden on FIA.

I also request that all ministries/departments must start and advertise their complaint cells and speedy action be ensured on every complaint. A time limit should also be proposed for the disposal of complaint. Only fair and honest behaviours can lead our country to stability, peace, progress and development.
