Punjab govt spending billions to promote education, says Saira Tarar

HAFIZABAD – Punjab Education Task Force Chairperson Saira Afzal Tarar has said that the Punjab government was spending billions of rupees for promoting education in the province.
She expressed these views while addressing a meeting of headmaster and headmistresses of the different schools in Hafizabad. Hafizabad District Education Promotion Committee Chairman Muhammad Bukhsh, Executive District Officer Education Sohail Azher Khan and attended the meeting.
She regretfully said that teachers were not performing their duties with dedication and the passion of serving the nation, which was creating hurdles to achieve the goal of literate Punjab.
She said that the teacher community should eliminate their mutual differences for the sack of country and give attention to impart students with quality education. She has assured that the Punjab government would take special measures for solving teachers’ problems and fulfilling their just demands.
‘TERRORISTS TRYING TO DESTABILISE COUNTRY’
Provincial Minister Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor said terrorists were planning to destabilise the country with their nefarious designs. He said this while addressing a meeting of Hafizabad District Peace Committee held at District Complex the other day.
District Coordination Officer Abrar Ahmad Mirza, District Police Officer Muhammad Tariq Chohan, MPA Malik Fayyaz Ahmad Awan, members of the committee and ulemas belonging to different schools of thought attended the meeting. The minister said that martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) gives the lesson of brotherhood, tolerance and mutual harmony in the society during the holy month of Muharram.
He said that anti-Islamic elements were making conspiracies against Pakistan and promoting terrorist activities in the country to destabilise it for achieving their nafarious objectives. The minister added that there will be no load shedding on 9th and 10th Muharram and in case of technical fault; generator will be arranged as alternative.
Ghafoor urged the people to remain vigilant in their surrounding to keep watch on anti-social elements and miscreants. People should inform every unusual activities to district administration in their areas for keeping peace, they appealed.
