Pakistan signs MoUs worth $1.3 billion with UAE

DUBAI: Ten agreements worth $1.3 billion were signed between Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) and Dubai-based international companies in the day-long Pakistan Investment Conference (PIC) in Dubai.
The Pakistan delegation, led by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, signed MoUs and letters of intent in fields such as IT, dairy products, agriculture, livestock and others. “Pakistan and Dubai are located in the same region and many Pakistani investors consider UAE their second home,” Sharif said, adding that Pakistan was a land of opportunities and investors from Dubai should make use of the markets in the country.
He thanked the role played by UAE in recent floods, adding that joint ventures between Pakistan and UAE in imported food items can prove beneficial for both countries. Earlier, PBIT Vice Chairman Rizwanullah Khan gave a presentation on opportunities of investment in different regions of Punjab.
