JUI-F quits coalition government at centre

ISLAMABAD – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F chief Fazlur Rehman announced on Tuesday that his party left the Pakistan People’s Party-led coalition government at centre in protest of sacking of Azam Swati from the federal cabinet, a private TV channel reported.
Fazl, who also heads the Kashmir Committee, announced the decision after chairing an emergency meeting of the JUI-F Majlis-e-Shura held here to review the situation emerged after Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilanu sacked two of his warring ministers, one of them from the JUI-F, Azam Swati, the minister for Science and Technology.
After the party meeting, two other ministers of the JUI-F, Federal Housing and Works Minister Rehmatullah Kakar and Tourism Minister Attaur Rehman have also forwarded their resignations to the prime minister.
It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Gilani sacked Hamid Saeed Kazmi and Azam Swati from their portfolios following a dispute involving hajj scandal and a tirade between the two cabinet members.
