Gilani sacks Kazmi, Swati

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Tuesday sacked Religious Affairs Minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi and Science and Technology Minister Azam Swati from their portfolios following a dispute over hajj scandal, a private TV channel reported.
Labour and Manpower Minister Khurshid Shah and Education Minister Asseff Ahmed Ali were given the charge of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Information Technology respectively, the channel reported.
The prime minister has also appointed Makhdoom Shahbuddin as minister for Defence Production and he will also continue to hold his portfolio of the Health Ministry.
The channel reported that Religious Affairs Secretary Agha Sarwar Raza Qazalbash has also been removed from his office, and has been directed to report to the Establishment Division. Overseas Pakistanis Division Secretary Saeed Khan has been appointed secretary to Religious Affairs.
