Cop turns robber, injures three boys

LAHORE: A Lahore police constable and his accomplice shot and injured three young boys in a failed robbery bid in Johar Town police precincts late on Monday.
The injured victims were identified as 20-year-old Waqas Ashraf, 21-year-old Bilal Waris and 21-year-old Malik Kaleemullah Khokhar – all residents of B/2 Block Johar Town. According to the injured victims, they were standing outside the house of Umer, a friend, when two unidentified men riding a motorcycle approached them.
One of the two intruders introduced himself as an assistant sub inspector (ASI) and then tried to snatch cell phones and cash from the boys on gun point with the help of his accomplice. The boys said that when they tried to resist the snatching attempt, the ASI opened fire on them.
