LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz on Sunday submitted a resolution in the Punjab Assembly’s Secretariat against Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer for leaving the country without notifying anybody in violation of Article 104 of the constitution.
The resolution, submitted by MPA Dr Zamurd Yasmeen Rana, stated that Taseer left the country without informing anybody, therefore leaving the governor’s seat vacant. The resolution requested the president to take stern notice of the governor’s non-constitutional act.
The Punjab governor, who is considered the constitutional head of the province, traveled to Karachi via flight PK 303 on December 5 and then flew to Colombo through an international flight, VL 189 the same evening. He returned to Lahore on December 8.
