ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif on Sunday accepted President Asif Ali Zardari’s invitation to a dinner held in honour of the Chinese prime minister on December 18.
Zardari telephoned Nawaz and invited him to the banquet to be hosted by the president, which was accepted by the PML-N head, president’s spokesman Farhatullah Babar said.
“The president thanked the former prime minister for accepting the invitation,” he added.
The Chinese prime minister will be on a state visit to Pakistan from December 17 to 19. He is expected to sign some key agreements during his visit and will also address a joint sitting of parliament on the last day of his visit.
Talking to Pakistan Today, Senator Pervez Rashid said it was unlikely that Nawaz and Zardari had any exclusive talk on matters relating to Pakistan’s internal politics.
