Lahore cut Karachi down to size

LAHORE: Lahore humiliated Karachi by 10 wickets in the final of the National Women Under-19 T-20 Cricket Championship at Lahore Country Club, Muridke, on Monday.
Pakistan’s star cricketer Bismah Maroof gave all-round performance for Lahore. First she sent three Karachi players back to the pavilion for just nine runs as the visitors managed just 65 runs. Later, she scored unbeaten 39 for Lahore in the successful run chase.
Karachi could use just 15.4 overs as they were all out for 65. Ayesha Zafar and Rabiya Shah were the only Karachi players who reached the double figures.
No other player managed to stay against the bowling of Bismah and Bakhtawar Iqbal who took two wickets for just four runs.
For her all-round performance Bismah also pocketed Rs 1000 as player of the final award. She hit five fours in her 31 balls innings while Sidra Amin supported her from the other end with run-a-ball 24 and these two young ladies completed the score in 9.1 overs.
Lahore earned Rs 50,000 win bonus and Karachi got Rs 25,000. Interestingly, all the top players were from Lahore apart from wicket-keeper who was from Multan. They were given Rs 5000 each for their performance in the tournament.
