QUETTA: Newly appointed Balochistan Frontier Corps Inspector General Major General Obaidullah Khan said on Saturday that there was no need of drone strikes in the province and the allied forces should focus on Afghanistan to eradicate terrorism.
Addressing his first press conference after assuming charge at Frontier Corps headquarters, he said that if Balochistan were targeted, it would be a part of a conspiracy to destabilize it and the people of Balochistan would severely react on it.
“There are no Taliban activities as there is much difference between Pashtoons of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa as the former are business oriented and have never been part of militancy”, the IG said.
He said that peace ion the region was linked with the situation in Afghanistan and the reports about presence of Quetta Shura or Taliban activities in Balochistan was the part of a plot to destabilize Pakistan.
Obaidullah said that it was wrong perception that Frontier Corps was running a parallel government or established a state within a state and promised that no FC check post would be set up without the order of the provincial government.
