Police arrest two counterfeiters

OKARA: Okara police have registered cases against two men for giving bogus cheques. Mehboob Ahmad son of Karam Illahi gave Rs 2000,000 cheque to Zulfiquar son of Fateh Muhammad, a resident of Chak No.54/2L. In another instance, Zulfiquar son of Saeed Muhammad gave Rs 3000,000 cheque to Muhammad Zafar son of Muhammad Sharif, a Depalpur resident.
17-year-old girl abducted: Four armed men abducted a 17-year-old young girl on gunpoint. Fauzia Bibi daughter of Muhammad Zubair, a resident of suburban 27/GD, was alone in her house when Muhammad Nasir, Abbas, Muhammad Iqbal and Ali Sher barged in the house and abducted her on gunpoint.
BURGLARIES AND THEFTS: Mukhtar Ahmad, a resident of suburban 30/GD, was shot at over rivalry by Muhammad Aslam and Muhammad Sadiq. The accused barged in his house and opened fire on him, injuring him seriously. The accused managed to escape while Mukhtar was rushed to the hospital from where was referred to Jinnah Hospital, Lahore.
Ten armed dacoits robbed Muhammad Asif, resident of village Dograi, and his house members of 12 tolas gold, Rs 300,000 cash, a rifle and a pistol. The robbers took Asif’s family as hostage and later barged into Rustam Ali, Asif’s brother’s house and looted gold ornaments, a million rupees and a mobile phone. Three armed dacoits robbed Syed Waqar Haider, a resident of Mandi Ahmadabad, of his mobile phone and Rs 15,700 cash.
Two unidentified dacoits robbed Muhammad Yasin, resident of 8/1AL, of his motorcycle, mobile phone and cash while he was going to his house from Akhtarabad. About 12 unidentified armed dacoits looted six animals in a truck from the compound of Shafqat Ali, resident of 55/2-L, after taking his nephew Rizwan Serwar and his servant Ghulam Sarwar as hostages on gunpoint.
Unidentified thieves barged into the house of Nasim Tahir, resident of Ghafoor Colony, and stole seven tolas of gold, bonds, television, clothing and Rs 55,000 cash. Liaquat Ali Khokhar, an advocate, parked his motorcycle outside his chamber in the district courts which got stolen. Umar Hayat, Khizar Hayat and Muhammad Hayat stole gold ornaments and cash from the house of Riaz Bibi, Chahwala resident.
TMA Garden Superintendent Qaiser Nagi had gone to Mohallah Ghaziabad for some work and had parked his motorcycle outside the Astana Aalia when unidentified thieves stole his motorcycle.
DONKEY CART ACCIDENT, ONE DEAD: A young boy, Zulifquar son of Ghulam Muhammad, Chak 21/2L resident, was making his way home on a donkey cart with some luggage, near Darbar Lal Shah GT Road, when a rashly driven motorcycle collided with his cart and he died on the spot. Police have registered a case against the bike rider, Jafar.
THE NEED FOR EDUCATION: Okara DCO Babar Shafi and Okara DPO Azeem Arshad, while addressing at the Okara Art Council at the Beaconhouse Schools System’s prize distribution ceremony, said that the youth should be provided modern education so that they could give better performance for the nation.
They said schools being under public sector are not showing better results whereas the schools being run under private sector are giving good results. Parents and the notables attended this ceremony.
