Gujranwala to be divided into 3 zones for gas supply

GUJRANWALA: Sui Northern Gas Pipe Lines (SNGPL) Gujranwala Region General Manager Mahmood Zia has assured the businessmen community that Gujranwala would be divided into three zones regarding the supply of Sui gas to the industrial sector.
The General Manager Mahmood Zia said that 850 industrial units, depending on natural gas in Gujranwala would be supplied gas for 23 continuous days while supply of gas would be suspended for remaining seven days of the month.
The GM said that formula of three zones and distribution of gas for 23 days had been agreed by the company and businessmen community. The GCCI delegation thanked the GM for his personal efforts to resolve the issue of lack of gas for industrial sector in the city.

Slow moving vehicles banned from entering GT Road: The traffic police has imposed ban on the entry of slow moving traffic vehicles at GT Road in the city and the decision will be implemented from today.
This decision was taken in a meeting of Traffic Liaison Committee in which district administration officers and traders’ representatives participated. According to details, the entry of slow moving traffic including donkey carts, tanga, two stroke rickshaw and motorcycle rickshaw will not be allowed at GT Road from Aziz cross to Chan da Qila bypass.
GCCI’s 15 members sacked: At least I5 executive members of Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) have been sacked. According to details, GCCI President Sheikh Sarwat Ikram, Vice President Muhammad Saeed Butt and other 13 executive members have been sacked due to the promulgation of the decision of federal secretary commerce.
The writ petition against this decision, filed in the Lahore High Court by then GCCI President Khalid, was withdrawn and the stay order against this decision became ineffective. The decision stated that 15 members in executive committee would be dismembered and election of all 30 seats would be held again.
