QUETTA: There will be no drone strikes in Balochistan, Chief Minister Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani said after the inaugural session of the fifth course under Balochistan Institute of Technical Education (BITE) on Wednesday.
Balochistan Assembly Speaker Mohammad Aslam Bhootani, Federal and Provincial ministers and Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Javed Zia were also present at the occasion.
Raisani rejected reports aired by American media and said the Taliban in Balochistan were peacefully acquiring religious education and there was no need to fight them, adding that no American organization was present in the province.
The suicide attack that attempted to kill him, conducted by either Lashkar-e-Jhangvi or Baloch United Liberation Front (BULF), was a terrorist attack and the government would catch the culprit, he said, adding that he was ready to solve any issue through negotiations.
He said the course in technical education was an effort to train youth to earn their own bread and to not to get involved in illegal activities, adding that 17,000 youths had already benefited from courses designed and taught by BITE.
He donated Rs 25 million to Bite and said that the collaboration between the army and the provincial government will continue. He also thanked the army for its cooperation.
