Pakistan, Turkey sign 14 MOUs, two protocols

ANKARA: Pakistan and Turkey, on Tuesday, signed sixteen Memoranda of Understandings (MOUs) at High Level Cooperation Council (HLCC) in the presence of their respective prime ministers.
Federal Commerce Minister Makhdoom Amin Fahim, signed four MOUs for cooperation in the field of plant protection and quarantine; on cooperation in the field of veterinary sciences; on developing health strategic plans and health systems; and on supporting and maintaining post-disaster health services.
Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar signed three MOUs for cooperation in the field of communication and information technologies, postal communications, and housing.
Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Syed Naveed Qamar signed two MOUs on cooperation in the field of education and on cooperation between Pakistan Television Corporation and Turkish Radio Television Corporation.
Railways Minister Ghulam Ahmed Bilor signed two MOUs on providing patient treatment in Turkey and establishment of sister hospitals between the two countries.
Minister for Water and Power Raja Pervez Ashraf signed three MOUs on trading of health personnel by joint programmes, on maternal child health and reducing maternal child mortality and protocol on establishing a mechanism for regular consultations on contracting and consulting engineering services.
Board of Investment Chairman Saleem Mandviwala signed two MOUs on cooperation in the field of youth development and in the field of housing and construction.
